A Couple in Love in Margate on the KZN South Coast
A couple in love in Margate on the KZN South Coast.
This couple is so in love. I met Danieta a few years ago at a Bridal Fair. Shew was one of the models that was modelling bridal dresses. When she told me she was getting married and asked if I could capture her day, I was ecstatic.
Danieta and Mike noticed each other about 6 years ago. It was quite funny listening to their story, as one blamed the other that it took so long for them to get together. Fast forward 5 years and this couple fell hopelessly in love with one another.
Our shoot started off in a field of yellow flowers in Margate. The weatherman had predicted rain for the afternoon so I knew I had to work quickly. (this shoot had been postponed twice already because of bad weather). Danieta had her hair and makeup done perfectly by Michelle Bouwer and was wearing a Maxine Willimse Design. The sky was drab as it was overcast, but by adding some lighting, I was able to make the look bright and fun. Light can add different elements to a photo shoot, the last image in the flower field shows that by controlling the light, I can change the overall mood of a photo.
See how the mood changes in this last photo. The first 2, the mood is more fun and bright, and then a more editorial look is created in the last photo by controlling the light.
Mike has been riding bikes for most of his life and I love making my couple photo shoots personal. I believe that the shoot should resonate with the couple. At first Danieta did not like motor cycles, now (I am told) she cant wait to get on one. Although she does not ride herself, she trusts Mike completely and it gives her an opportunity to hold him tightly, which they both love. We left Margate and went to Dezzis for some bike photos. As we arrived at Dezzis the sky turned an amazing colour and with that we had some lighting in the far distance. A few drops of rain started to fall as well. I just loved these photos created here.
Danieta and Mike are such fun in front of the camera. I loved spending the afternoon with you and can’t wait for your wedding next year.
