An Emotional Wedding in Kokstad
An emotional Wedding in Kokstad. Garth and Lamise exchange vows.
I love the country and travelling to Kokstad can be considered as a destination wedding for me. I actually love the area and March is a great time of year. Not too hot, not too cold.
This day was no different, I arrived at Lamise at around 11am and it was a scorching 28 Degrees Celsius. We had not met in person and I only had chats via video and email. So when we did meet in person, it was though we had known each other for a while. Lamise was ready for me when I arrived, her hair was perfectly styles and her makeup was flawless. There were 3 bridesmaids, a maid of honor and 3 flower girls. I had such fun photographing the girls and lots of laughter.
I must say that the ceremony was one of the most emotional one’s I have ever attended. As Lamise entered the church, Garth shed a tear and then Lamise started crying too. WOW, it was very special for me to witness the emotion. To add to the emotion, Lamise’s father was the Pastor that married them. This was very special and again what an honour to be part of this amazing wedding.
The Light Was Amazing
After the ceremony, we went to a farm just outside Kokstad where I photographed the family, bridal party and a few photos of the bridal couple. The light peaking through the clouds was amazing and I was able to create timeless memories.
We then went to Rest Assured Guest House where the reception was being held. The guests at this wedding were amazing and such fun. (I will share more pictures from the wedding in a later blog post).
Just before sunset, we went to out for the bridal couple photo session. A thunder storm had rolled in and this made the sky interesting with dramatic clouds. Thanks to my lighting system, I was able to light Garth and Lamise in the poor lighting conditions.
Here are a few of my favourite images from the wedding. Thank you Lamise and Garth for allowing me to capture your wedding day. It was an honour for me to be at your ceremony.
