FAQ

Because Classic Never Dies

I have a simple, classic style and believe that everyone is beautiful. I am inspired by beauty and fashion and believe that my images tell a story with no need for heavy image manipulation or pre-sets. I will deliver a set of photos that will stand the test of time. Photos that will still look amazing when showing your kids and grandkids.

I have compiled a list of the most asked questions for your convenience. I hope you will find the answers useful.

However, if you have more questions, you are welcome to email me and I will reply as soon as possible. I hope to hear from you soon!

We don’t like posing for photos?

I get this often. The fact is that all photos are posed in one way or another. You need to be posed for so that the background looks great and the light is perfect. I also want you to look your best in the photographs. Think of it more as guidance than posing.

Do you have a second shooter for weddings?

No, I don’t work with a second shooter, unless you ask for one. My style is carried out throughout the album and it does not matter how skilled or experienced another photographer is, they will never be able to replicate my style. I do have an assistant to assist with lighting and to carry equipment.

Do you use flash/artificial light in all your photos?

No not at all. It all depends on the lighting conditions. I want to use best possible light that will ensure your beauty is captured perfectly. I may use natural, flash or continuous lights or a combination of all three. It all depends on where we are and what we want to achieve.

Will I receive all the photos taken on the day?

You will receive the best photos taken of your day – I will not give you duplicate photos or photos where eyes are closed etc. The collection may say that you will receive x amount photos, but you are more likely to receive a few more.

Do you use photoshop?

Yes, all the photos you receive will go through a retouching process in photoshop. Retouching includes, colour correction, adding contrast, blemish removal, slight skin softening etc. I may enhance a few of your photos using colour grading techniques or converting story telling photos to black & white.

Will all the photos go into the wedding album?

A wedding album consists of between 40 and 60 pages (20 to 30 spreads). The album is professionally laid out and we choose the best photos (approx. 100-200) that reflect the story of your beautiful day. Don’t stress, you can make changes to your layout before it goes to print.

Will I receive the RAW Files?

Unfortunately, no, as the retouching process is part of the style of the photos you receive. Special software is needed to read RAW files and to be honest, there is no reason you would need them.

What if it rains on my wedding day?

We can’t change the weather, you just need to accept it and enjoy the day. Rain creates amazing opportunities to create different photos.

Do you only do wedding photography?

I specialise in portraiture, meaning I photograph people. I love creating memories for pregnant couples, couples, families and matric dances.

Do you travel?

I love to travel. I have had the opportunity of photographing at great locations throughout South Africa. I work between the South Coast, Durban, North Coast and the midlands and then try to get to Gauteng twice a year. It really depends where my clients want me. My dream is to shoot internationally.
