Juley and Josh Exchange Vows at Shalwyn Wedding Venue
Juley and Josh exchange vows at Shalwyn Wedding Venue.
I have no words actually. I have been sitting at my keyboard for a few hours trying to think of how I can put perfection into words.
I met Juley about 3 years ago and we developed a great friendship. When she asked me to photograph her brother’s wedding (Chanelle and Jeff) a few years ago, I said I would, on condition that I would be her wedding photographer one day. Juley and I kept in contact and in March this year, she sent me a message saying that her and Josh are engaged. I did their engagement session in Hibberdene a few months ago. Here is the blog post (in case you missed it)((Juley and Josh Are Engaged | A South Coast Couple Photo Shoot).
Juley booked me for the wedding and when I heard that it was at Shalwyn Wedding Venue, I was very excited. A new venue to visit. Then when she told me that OH Happy Day was doing the decor, I could not wait for the day to work with this team of talent.
Leading up to the wedding, KZN experienced 6 days of continuous torrential rain and then 3 days of gale force winds. It was amazing to wake up on the morning of the wedding to a beautiful morning, with clear sky and very little wind. I stunning day, for a perfect wedding.
The morning started off with Josh and the guys having a game of touch rugby in the beautiful garden at Shalwyn. After some morning exercise, the guys went to get ready.
It was then time for me to take a small break before I headed off to the girls. I decided to visit the enchanted forest at Shalwyn. This was where the ceremony was taking place. OH Happy Day had done amazing work decorating a stunning alter.
After enjoying the beautiful peace at the forest, I was off to the the girls to to the bridal preparation.
When I arrived, the amazing Leandri Hattingh (makeup) and super talented Robyne Kayla (Hair) from The Glam were busy at what they do best. Juley and the girls looked gorgeous. The moms were also getting ready with Juley, and there were amazing special moments.
When Juley’s stepdad and dad arrived to take her to the ceremony. Oh boy…………
The ceremony was beautiful. Loads of laughs, to the point and very special.
There was a chill in the afternoon air as some thunder storm clouds rolled in. This did not stop us from having loads of fun with the bridal party.
And then it was time to create some memories for Juley and Josh. Shalwyn Wedding Venue is set on a farm. On the way to the forest, we had to pass this large field, filled with cabbages. I thought to myself that it would be interesting but how could I make this look, well, not like a cabbage field.
We started off near the forest and then went to the cabbages.
When we arrived at the reception, the decor was on point and suited the colour theme and venue perfectly.
What an incredible day. I loved working with this amazing team (see list of suppliers below). I loved seeing the family again, seeing some of the old friends and meeting the new friends. I loved, loved spending the day with Juley and Josh – your are both amazing and I wish you many many happy years together. Thank you for allowing me to spend your day with you!
A perfect wedding.
